John 4:14 (NIV)
14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
ARE YOU THIRSTY TODAY?
How many times have you felt “thirsty?” I am sure that throughout your life this feeling has been felt many times. During times of thirst do you always make the healthiest choice and grab good ole’ water to quench your thirst or do you reach for something a little more on the unhealthy side?
We all know that there have been times that we have not made the best decisions, after all we are all human. But if we are selective on what we choose to quench our thirst not only will it change us physically but also spiritually as well.
Just as we tend to become “thirsty” physically, we also begin to feel “thirsty” spiritually and what you choose to quench your thirst with truly matters.
When we are thirsty for attention or affirmations, we will look for our needs to be met by the first individual that shows us any kind of response to our need. But once that person has satisfied that need, we tend to thirst for more and then we create a vicious cycle that gets us nowhere fast.
Am I right?
Once we look inside of ourselves and realize that we have been running in this vicious circle, seeking a refreshment that has in all actuality dehydrated us and dried our souls up, we then look up to God to quench our thirst.
BUT WHY IS GOD ALWAYS OUR LAST RESORT?
JUST LIKE THE BEST THING FOR OUR BODIES TO HAVE IS WATER, BUT FOR SOME REASON WE TEND TO MAKE THE UNHEALTHY CHOICE AND THEN WE WONDER WHY WE PHYSICALLY FEEL SO DRAINED!!!
JESUS is the only one that can fulfill your every need and quench your thirst…
JESUS refreshes us and provides the satisfaction that we long for…
We have all made the wrong choice and have chosen things over what God has for us…
Sometimes those choices are made because of :
- Lack of knowledge
- The inability to believe that we are made to do hard things.
JESUS QUENCHES ALL THIRST!
The living water flows like a river and it will never run dry! This does not mean that you will never thirst again. It does however mean that when you do thirst, you will reach for the living water, Jesus Christ, to quench your thirst.
Have a blessed week!
