A Woman Of Noble Character: 31 Noble Characteristics Of A Proverbs 31 Woman….

AN EPHESIANS 5 MAN PURSUES A PROVERBS 31 WOMAN IN ORDER TO CREATE THE AUTHENTIC, PURE, AND LONGLASTING 1 CORINTHIANS 13 LOVE.

Have you ever really thought about how to become a “WOMAN OF NOBLE CHARACTER?”

Does this statement mean that you will become “perfect” by striving to become a Proverbs 31 woman? The answer is No! The only perfect person was Jesus, but what sets the Proverbs 31 woman apart, is that she allowed God to mold her and make her into who she was.

She walked closely beside God wanting first and foremost to please him and then everything else flowed from that.

Each day we should strive to become a Proverbs 31 woman. God honors those that try each day to be more like him. We are called to be set apart and not to live and do things  like the world, we are called to see beauty from within, we are called to equip and encourage other women to advance further in the kingdom of God and we are called to shine our lights boldly, courageously and intensively in honor of our Lord and saviour, Jesus Christ.

PROVERBS 31:10-31 (NIV)

10 A wife of noble character who can find?
    She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her
    and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
    all the days of her life.
13 She selects wool and flax
    and works with eager hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
    bringing her food from afar.
15 She gets up while it is still night;
    she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants
.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
    out of her earnings, she plants a vineyard.
17 She sets about her work vigorously;
    her arms are strong for her tasks.
18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
    and her lamp does not go out at night.
19 In her hand she holds the distaff
    and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
20 She opens her arms to the poor
    and extends her hands to the needy.
21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
    for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes coverings for her bed;
    she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
    where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
    and supplies the merchants with sashes.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
    she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
    and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
    and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
    her husband also, and he praises her:
29 Many women do noble things,
    but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
    but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,
    and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

  1. “The only perfect person was Jesus, but what sets the Proverbs 31 woman apart, is that she allowed God to mold her and make her into who she was.”
    This line got me! Molding and growing us can be painful and the Proverbs 31 woman would have experienced these hard times of refining!
    This encouraged me today!

    1. I am so very happy that you were encouraged, Julie! Every single woman has had to endure pain during the pruning process, but boy, oh, boy the blessings that come from it all!!

  2. Proverbs 31 is one of my favorite passage and most Christian women try to use as a standard of living. To know that we are all of the 31 things listed even it’s by faith is so encouraging.

  3. Isn’t it funny that growing up we always relate the word nobility with a knight, or it being a masculine trait? Truly God has called women to be women of nobility as well as you’ve pointed out here!

  4. I love Proverbs 31! Most of us do! I have created a sign that sits on my bathroom counter with all the characteristics written out. It looks at me in the face first thing in the morning! It’s a great reminder!

  5. So many people think the Proverbs 31 woman was perfect, but she wasn’t even a real person, she was a picture of a something to strive for. And most godly men will praise their wife no matter how far she falls short. I love that you picked the characteristics out of this passage, because we all know Jesus looks at our hearts over our actions. I hadn’t seen that before and am definetly going to think on it for a bit.

  6. This is written beautifully, Keisha. Set apart and a beauty from within – truly a work of beauty. I have a post about the Imperfection of the Proverbs 31 Woman. She is certainly an example we should follow, but I’m afraid many young woman strive to be her and fail because they focus on her as a whole and not on one of two of her traits. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Thank you so much for the very kind words and encouragement. I will definitely go read your post on this very subject as well.

  7. When I was a young wife and new Christian I resented the proverbs 31 woman. I thought it was an unattainable list of what I was supposed to try to become. As I’ve gotten older in years and in maturity I have come to appreciate and strive to develop these characteristics.

    1. I completely understand. It seemed at first very hard to live up to what it truly meant to be a Proverbs 31 woman, but once I gave it all to God, it was easy to obtain it.
