6 Scriptures & Ways to Let Go….

Letting go is one of the hardest things for us mere humans to do…We like to wallow in our self-pity and we like to hoard things into little boxes until we are smothering…and all we know to do is try to reach the top of the box to have some air. We create our own messes in all actuality. We just do not like to let go…

We hold onto everything for dear life and even when those things that we are holding onto may be sucking the air out of our lungs, we just can not seem to let go. We are hard headed and selfish beings at times.

There just comes a time in our lives when we need to “Let go” in order for our full potential to be brought to life

God is the only answer for this problem that we create. He is the only one that we can lean on and trust to help us to let go of the things that are hindering our blessings and our future.
-Let Go & Let God

What do you need to let go of today?

"When you finally let go, something better comes along."

~6 Scriptures ~

Proverbs 4:25-26 (NIV)

25 Let your eyes look straight ahead;
    fix your gaze directly before you.
26 Give careful thought to the paths for your feet
    and be steadfast in all your ways.

Psalm 46:10(NIV)

10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
    I will be exalted among the nations,
    I will be exalted in the earth.”

Philippians 3:13-14 (NIV)

13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

John 14:27 (NIV)

27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Jeremiah 6:16 (NIV)

16 This is what the Lord says:

“Stand at the crossroads and look;
    ask for the ancient paths,
ask where the good way is, and walk in it,
    and you will find rest for your souls.

Ephesians 4:31-32 (NIV)

31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

“Getting over a painful experience is much like crossing monkey bars. You have to let go at some point in to order to move forward.” C.S. LEWIS

    1. I pray right now that you are given the strength that is needed to let go of your past. Don’t look back, Andrea, you are not going that way! God wants you to flourish and grow in him today. Be blessed!

    1. I can relate to that so much. The struggle is very real when it comes to having issues that are hard to let go of because of those we love. But I know that with God and God alone that every situation will be taken care of! Thank you for stopping by! Be blessed!

  1. Ugh, why do we hold on to all that old stuff like it’s a lifesaver when really we are drowning?! Thank you for the verses to remind us to LET GO and let God guide us and breathe new life into us. I think your tip to pray in the Holy Spirit is key. Maybe we can’t let go on our own, but with our HELPER, we can do all things!

    1. I agree!! I have had to come to realize that I can not do anything on my own and it is just so much easier to give everything to God and allow him to grant me rest. Thanks for stopping by! Have a blessed week!

  2. Wonderful post! These scriptures are so powerful and just what I needed in my situation today. Very timely post…so glad I read this.
    Thanks for sharing. BLESSINGS.

  3. Thank you for sharing these truths! These Scriptures are a wonderful reminder to let go of the things that are holding me back and getting in the way of true, godly relationships.

  4. Letting go can be so hard because the longer the past pain took place, the more it has become a part of our life, even if it’s negative. It has become a way we define ourselves. Moving on from that situation can then be uncomfortable because we no longer know how to view ourselves so it can feel vulnerable. But we need to remember that we are not defined by our behaviors or the behaviors of others! Our identity is in Christ and His view of our worth! We need to embrace those truths! God bless!

    1. Oh, I agree 100%. It is very hard to get over pain from our past and the devil will use those things that haunt us against us. I just know that once I have let go of things, God moved in my life in a mighty way.

  5. Letting God in the good and in the bad. That’s faith isn’t it? It’s so freeing to know that we can just let go of the future and let God lead us by His right hand down the path He wants us to go. It makes our steps stronger and bolder. May your path be sprinkled with sunflowers and roses, fragrances and sweet fruits, butterflies and hummingbirds, melodies of songbirds, and the knowledge of the love of God through Christ Jesus.

    1. Yes, I agree!! Letting go will indeed grant you freedom in God’s glory! Thank you for taking the time to stop by & read. Be blessed!

  6. “Give everything to God and allow him to grant you rest.” This is one of the hardest things for a type A personality to do. Like Peter, we want to do something. Resting in Christ is sometimes what’s necessary instead.

    1. It is very hard! God wants us to rest in him so that we can move forward in our purpose and fulfill his plans for us. Be blessed!

  7. Such great ways and tips on letting go! It’s one thing I am working on currently. It has been helping reading God’s word every morning. 🙂

  8. amen! Thanks for this .. how important it is to let those baggage fall off our shoulders in order to move forward. Moving forward by Israel Hougton is also a great song with these scriptures.

    1. I love Isreal Hougton!! Carrying the weight of the world on our shoulders stunts our spiritual growth and will cause us to move backward instead of forward 😉 Be blessed!!
