7 Ways To Shine Your Light On HALLOWEEN

I know that some do not celebrate Halloween and if you do not, I promise you that by posting this, I am not trying to say that you should or should not celebrate. (That is totally a personal decision and I respect your decision no matter what you choose to do)
With that being said, Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and let me tell you a few reasons why…

Halloween in our home is celebrated by dressing up with our children and making wonderful lasting memories. We decide on a family theme, make our costumes together, and as a family, we trick or treat together. We have a huge Halloween gathering with our family members, we eat, we laugh, and we spend much-needed quality time together. Halloween is a fun night for Christians to gather together and shine our lights.

There may be darkness all around us, but God shines through us and with that light, we can defeat any and all darkness…

7 Ways To Shine Your Light On Halloween

-Pray before you leave your home and ask God to help you to be a witness to someone tonight. Halloween is the perfect time to get to know your neighbors and even an opportunity to talk to lots of strangers.

-Show kindness to every person that you encounter.

-As you are giving out candy, tell each person that “Jesus loves them or tell them to have a blessed night.”

-Use Your best manners while receiving candy from others.

-Smile and compliment others on their costumes.

-If you do not like typical Halloween costumes, choose to dress as biblical characters.

-Make this a night to gather with friends and family. Dress up with your kids, laugh together and make fun memories together.

We shall fear no evil, for our God is always with us! Shine your lights on this dark world and glorify God on this Halloween.

xoxo-Be blessed!

5 Ways To Live Victoriously!

God wants us to live victoriously and with him on your side, you have already won!

Romans 8:37 –No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.(NIV)

There is VICTORY in the name of JESUS!!!

5 Ways To live Victouriously!

God will grant you victory when you lay your burdens down and present your body to him fully.

God will grant you victory when you remove negative people and negative thoughts from your life. I am not saying that you do not love those that have a negative spirit, I am saying that you are allowed to remove yourself from negative situations in which people try to get you down. Love those that are negative from a distance.

God will grant you victory when you read the Holy Bible daily and you apply the word of God to your life.

God will grant you victory when you pray. Prayer changes everything! Prayer builds your faith and brings you closer to God. The more you pray and seek God the closer to him you will become.

God will grant you victory when you decide to give him PRAISE no matter what storm you are walking in and through. By changing the atmosphere around you with praise, God speaks and moves in your circumstances like a rushing wind. God will swoop you up,  wrap his loving arms around you, whisper in your ear and remove every fear that you are facing today.

You are more than a conqueror through Jesus!

6 Scriptures & Ways to Let Go….

Letting go is one of the hardest things for us mere humans to do…We like to wallow in our self-pity and we like to hoard things into little boxes until we are smothering…and all we know to do is try to reach the top of the box to have some air. We create our own messes in all actuality. We just do not like to let go…

We hold onto everything for dear life and even when those things that we are holding onto may be sucking the air out of our lungs, we just can not seem to let go. We are hard headed and selfish beings at times.

There just comes a time in our lives when we need to “Let go” in order for our full potential to be brought to life

God is the only answer for this problem that we create. He is the only one that we can lean on and trust to help us to let go of the things that are hindering our blessings and our future.
-Let Go & Let God

What do you need to let go of today?

"When you finally let go, something better comes along."

fix your gaze directly before you.

John 14:27 (NIV)

27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

and you will find rest for your souls.

Ephesians 4:31-32 (NIV)

All or Nothing

Today is the day to change…

Today is the day to put God first in your life…

Today is the day to be all in….

It’s All or Nothing….

You can not claim to love God and invite the devil to have a seat at your dinner table. You have to make a choice and with God being the gentleman that he is, he will not force you to choose him. God is a jealous God and he does not like to share you with anyone else…

I pray that each of you chooses this day to be all in with God. The bets are on the table and you are guaranteed to win with God on your side. Lay down your idols, your burdens, your hurts, your depression, your anxiety, your addictions and put your trust in God.

All or Nothing

Coffee & Jesus

How do you like to start off your day?

I know that I like to start off each and every day with a little bit of coffee and a whole lotta Jesus!

I usually get up a walk straight to my Keurig and make myself and my husband our coffee before doing anything else in the morning. My husband knows not to even speak to me until after that first taste of coffee has touched my lips.

I am instantly a new person after coffee and I am not exaggerating. ..

I am a coffee-aholic, no lie. My dream is to one day travel the world, teaching, speaking, writing and sharing God’s word all while visiting little cafes drinking different varieties of coffee.

I love Jesus and coffee that much and I hope and dream that this will one day come true!!

Coffee calms me and soothes my soul to the core. So once my kiddos are dropped off at school and I return home to work, I then feel as if I can start my day fully without the mundane of my daily routine dragging me down.

This is now my time to fix another cup of coffee and focus solely on soaking in the presence of Jesus.

Have you ever felt that way?
Does the mundane of life seem to drag you completely down?

Well, if you have ever felt that way, you are not alone! Most of us have felt this way at some point throughout our lives. We lead overwhelmingly busy lives. We are always rushing here, there and everywhere and we do not always start our day out with Jesus like we should. Our priorities tend to get out of whack because of all of our “life” demands. We would rather start our day off by reading the latest gossip from Facebook, Instagram, or snap chat before picking up our bibles or devotions.

I am just being real here! Each and every day we make choices that potentially either have negative or positive impacts on our day. I know that 9 times out of 10 if I open my facebook first thing in the morning, I will read at least 5 status updates that are negative, annoying and just downright rude. So in return, I start feeling negative, annoyed and angry or rude toward the person that wrote the status update and I then rub my “bad attitude” off onto the people I love in my family.

So wouldn’t you like to start your day off with a positive outlook on life?

Start your day with…

Here are a few ways on how to start your day off right!
  • Download a daily devotional on your phone and before you log onto any kind of social media, read your devotional first.
  • Write your favorite scripture on your mirror or a post-it note and place it in special places so that you can visually see it every day. You can also do this for other family members in your home as well. Wake up each day and quote that scripture over yourself!
  • Make a cup of coffee or your favorite beverage and read the word of God, taking time to ponder on the scriptures you are reading and not rushing through the scriptures only to get done sooner.
  • Take 10 minutes to soak in God’s presence with praise & worship music. This will allow God time to speak to you. You need only to be still and listen.
  • Take 10 minutes or so in prayer and give thanks to God for giving you another day.

These tips will help you to start your day off right with a positive attitude and I promise you that if you begin to start your day with these tips, you will see a change not only in yourself but your family as well.

Be blessed!

Are You Producing Fresh Fruit?

Are you producing fresh fruit?

A couple of weeks ago I was driving along the parkway and the car in front of me was moving at a slower speed than I wanted to go.  The speed limit was 70 miles an hour and they obviously didn’t know where the gas pedal was. As I began to pass them, they then decided to speed up making it impossible to pass them. It absolutely infuriated me! I could feel my blood pressure getting a bit higher and my blood boiling through my veins. I was mad, to say the least…

My kids were also in the car with me and both of them were eyewitnesses to just how mad I was. I  proceeded to say such things like how “stupid” the person operating the vehicle in front of us was. Now in our home, the word “stupid” should not be said. But it totally ticked me off in that moment and I could not control my anger.

Now I am usually a pretty calm individual, but I may have a small amount of road rage and when I say small I mean it is honestly bad, just ask my hubby or kids.

My point is that we all have those moments in our lives where we show the not so pretty things about us.

But do we realize that our own actions influence others?

I try my very best not to say words like “stupid” and in front of God and my children, I failed. In that moment, I was producing rotten fruit.

People are constantly watching over our shoulders and watching our every move and especially watching those of us that are in ministry.

Am I right?

It is often times hard to remember that every day you are an example and though none of us are perfect, we need to strive to be the best version of ourselves each day. We are human and we all make mistakes and we are not designed to live that way in our own power. It is only when we stay connected to God that our good characteristics flow more freely from our lives. Then we notice that we produce fresh fruit, but how?

We find that Paul the Apostle wrote in Galatians 5:22-23- But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law.

So what Paul is saying is that the fruit of the spirit is the moral character developed by the power of the Holy Spirit. Paul expresses by listing the moral qualities produced by the Spirit that those who “live by the Spirit” will actually fulfill God’s requirements for his people. They are Godly characteristics that we should live our lives by.

So what exactly do each of them mean according to the word of God and how can we produce fresh fruit vs. rotten fruit?

~LOVE- The word for love does not refer to the warm and fuzzy feelings that a person may make you feel. Love in this instance is a deliberate attitude of good will and devotion to others. The Lord gives freely without looking to see if the other person deserves it or not and does these things knowing the other person cannot give anything back.

Question to yourself: Am I motivated to love and do for others as Christ has done for me?

~JOY-unlike happiness, joy is gladness that is not dependent on our circumstances. Happiness is temporary, joy is long lasting.

Question: Am I experiencing joy in my life or temporary happiness?

~PEACE-the presence of tranquility even while in the midst of total chaos.

Question: Am I focusing on turmoil and chaos going on around me or am I focussing on God’s peace that passes all understanding?

~PATIENCE- the ability to endure ill-treatment that is given by others without lashing out at them.

Question: Are you easily angered?

~KINDNESS– when you look for ways to meet the needs of others.

Question: Is it my goal to serve others or myself?

~GOODNESS- this reflects the character of God. It is your desire to see good in others.

Question- Does your life reflect the desire to see others experience God on a deeper level?

~FAITHFULNESS- Someone with real integrity and puts their full trust in God.

Question: Am I faithful to those around me?

~GENTLENESS-meekness, not weakness. Gentle people forgive others and try to live tranquil lives.

Question-Do you come across to people as headstrong, unteachable and or unapproachable?

~SELF-CONTROL- our fleshly desires-choosing to be controlled by the Holy Spirit instead of ourselves.

Question- Are you the one driving your life or is God controlling the wheel?

When we follow the “FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT,” we produce fresh fruit!!

So I pray today that you soak in God’s presence and ask him how to help you apply these fruits to your life and let God show you the harvest that is coming just by doing so.

Prophetic Characteristics & Personalities

For the longest time, I have found myself extremely emotional. For the life of me, I could not understand why my emotions were so out of whack. Truthfully I assumed that there was something wrong with me. I did not find my answers until I began my deep journey into studying Prophetic Personalities.

The Bible tells us that in the last days, God himself will pour out his Holy Spirit on all flesh. This is found in Acts 2:17-21, which reads:

“‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
18 Even on my servants, both men, and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
    and they will prophesy.
19 I will show wonders in the heavens above
and signs on the earth below,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.

20The sun will become dark,
and the moon will turn blood red before that great and glorious
day of the Lord arrives.
21 But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord
    will be saved.’

This scripture is telling us that in the last days there will be a release of the PROPHETIC.

Every single Christian has the ability to prophesy since it is the Holy Spirit that gives us the power to use this gift. What others do not know is that if you have the gift of prophecy, you also have a PROPHETIC PERSONALITY TYPE. During this post, you may be able to identify with one of these and understand why you are the way you are in certain situations.

These personality types have been made to help you understand more into your gift of prophecy.

  1. THE KNOWER- If you are a “knower”, you seem to just know something and it feels right, but you can not explain exactly how you know. It is as if you have a built-in radar of knowledge about certain situations and once you come in contact with the situation you find out that what you thought you knew was the truth.

2. THE SEER-If you are a “seer” you will see pictures in your mind, visions, and dreams. When you give a prophetic word, you will see these pictures in your head and let them lead and guide you through your prophetic word. It is the same with dreams and visions also.

3. THE FEELER-If you are a “feeler”, you feel so deeply other people’s emotions. A feeler discerns the things of God by “feeling” with their inner man if someone is dealing with a spirit of fear, love, peace, joy, etc..Feelers are not able to just feel things of the spirit, but God will impart his feelings to them to know God’s thoughts by understanding how he feels.

4. THE HEARER-If you are a “hearer”, you will “hear” what the Holy Spirit says. Now, of course, God does not yell down from heaven in an audible voice and tell you what you need to hear. Normally you just hear something and then share what God is saying through what you heard in order to explain it to the individual.

After much studying, I knew right off the bat that I was a FEELER/KNOWER. For several months God has been shifting me in a new direction. He has allowed me in several situations to use my gift of speaking in tongues and also in the prophetic gift of knowledge. I am not going to lie that it kind of frightened me the first time God gave a prophetic word of knowledge and told me to speak it over someone else.

I just knew that something was going on with this person, but I did not know exactly how I knew.  But after I was obedient and spoke what God had said, I, in turn, found out that every single thing I had spoken lined up with what the person was dealing with. It was amazing and I was filled with overwhelming joy that God used me!!

In my obedience, God began using me and as I stepped out more, he allowed other gifts I have been given to be used as well.  I am truly in awe of God’s goodness.

That is why I decided to start studying more into prophecy and I found that I am a “knower/feeler”. I am not posting this to boast by any means!

I am simply trying to help those of us use our gifts that God has given us and understand why things happen the way they do. I have been a “feeler” for as long as I can remember. But I did not understand my emotions until I began to study more deeply. There have been so many times that I can discern what someone else is feeling. It is impressed upon me so very hard. I tend to ask people all the time if they are “ok”, just because I can feel in my spirit that they are not. I can walk into a room very happy and walk out 5 minutes later feeling all kinds of emotions. It is because I literally take on others people’s emotions and pain. IT IS EXHAUSTING at times and very frustrating. But now I understand why….

I use to look at myself like I was a crazy emotional basket case lol. Like seriously though, I can sense even pain! Yes, I said pain. I can sense when someone else is in pain even. Things just impact me so deeply! Now that I know I am a prophetic knower/feeler, my life makes perfect sense. It is so refreshing to know that I was made this way for a purpose and better yet a purpose that is bigger than myself.

I have also realized that after having many sleepless nights, pacing the floor and crying out to God with a very heavy heart and being urged to pray for burdens that I am not aware of yet, that I too have the gift of intercessory prayer.

Intercessory prayer is when you pray on the behalf of others and when it is teamed up with a prophetic gift it can be POWERFUL!!!

If you are called to the ministry of a prophetic intercessor, you will find that you may relate to a few of these additional things:

You tend to pray more at times when you feel urged by the Holy Spirit. (Like a “burden” prayer)

Prayer is easy for you when you feel that the Holy Spirit has given you a specific burden or situation to pray about.

You believe God has called you to pray.

You place a high value on prayer.

You are bold and confident while praying

You have seen how God answers prayers.

You receive revelation from the Holy Spirit concerning what to pray and how to pray.

You experience a deep satisfaction from prayer.

Intercessory prayer is very biblical and one of the earliest examples of this type of prayer is found in Genesis 18 when Abraham pleaded with God for the well being of Sodom. Instead of being overcome with his own needs, Abraham prayed for those around him.

I hope that this post was helpful for each of you!! Pray and seek God’s answers about your gifts. I know I am very happy that I did a little more digging.

Step out and use your gifts today!

Dear Mom…

There will never be a day that I will not thank you for all that you have done and continue to do for me. You wanted me from the start and since you were only 16 years old and so very young, that is truly rare. It was hard and your strength in those moments when you thought of giving up only made you dig deeper and try harder and you did it all for me…

Thank you is not nearly enough for what you deserve…

You have fought great battles to become the mother that you are and that is indeed where my strength to become the fighter that I am today has come from.

You have strength inside of you that you are not even aware of and your love as a mother has truly conquered all. You need to look in the mirror and be proud of who you are because as your daughter, I am proud of you.

This world is a cruel dark place, but you have a light that shines so bright within you that can cut through the dark clouds that try to devour you.

Your soul is full of kindness, your spirit is full of compassion and you radiate sunshine with your smile.

You truly have no idea how beautiful you are!

God has predestined your every move and is calling you to greater things and I believe that with my whole heart…

You are the strongest, bravest, most beautiful person that I ever met and each day that I get with you on this earth is a blessing.

You are loved more than you could ever imagine…

You were my first love, my first friend, and my map of guidance anytime I have ever felt lost…

It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught each of us to do for ourselves.

“Your greatest contribution to the Kingdom of God may not be something you do but someone you raise.” – Andy Stanley

We are blessed to call you, Mom…

So, Mom, anytime you are feeling down, look at what all you have accomplished so far and always remember how mighty you are!

You have a heart of pure gold this much is true and you show how much you care in everything you do.

You always put your children first, tending to their every need and for this we are forever grateful for you, indeed!

I challenge you today, if you have a mother like mine, let her know how much you love her. A mothers love is a beautiful thing. Cherish every moment that you have with each other.

Many blessings & Happy Monday!

The Love Of A Sister…

A ministering angel shall my sister be.
— William Shakespeare

She is my voice of reason and the calming to my every storm…

She is my steady hand when life gets shaky…

She is my constant sense of hope when this life gets weary…

She is the light through every dark tunnel ahead…

She is my closest friend and secret keeper without question…

She is my open ear when nobody else is listening

As tears flow down my cheeks I am in awe of my sister’s love. She has been beside me through the good, the bad and the ugly and she has been my constant cheerleader throughout this thing we call life. I have watched her grow into a woman of such elegant poise and grace. My sister will never truly know just how much she means to me.

I can barely type the words that I want to say because my fingers lack the capability of expressing the pure raw essence of beauty that my sister bestows. Her love is deep, her gifts are many and she holds within herself such power that she is not even aware of yet. God has bonded us together like an anchor tied to the strongest rope. My sister’s prayers move mountains and her smile changes the atmosphere to any room. She will never truly know just much I love her.

I believe William Shakespeare said it best, “A ministering angel my sister will be.” Indeed she will, indeed she is!

Sisters are God’s gift of friendship to us…

Sisters love without question and help you to face your toughest fears…

So if you have a sister like mine let her know how much you care for her!

7 Ways To Show Her You Care

  • Be there for her, always without question!
  • Be quick to listen and slow to speak! Lend her your ear and then lend her your advice.
  • Hold her hand through the good, the bad and the ugly.
  • Pray for her, speak life into her and help guide her toward God each day.
  • Make her feel special and tell her how thankful you are for her.
  • Rescue her when she feels as if she is drowning, be that rope tied to that anchor.
  • Support her, cheer her on and encourage her to be who God has created her to be without competition. God made us all unique and with different gifts and talents. Support each other…laugh together and cry on each other’s shoulders.

My sister is a Godsend and there is not a day that goes by that I do not thank God above for sending her to me. She has recently become a mother and what joy I see when I see her look into her son’s eyes. My sister first and foremost trust in the Lord and she knows where her help comes from. That alone is something to be thankful for.

So to my Sister with love, I can only hope that you see what I see in you! God has amazing, beautiful things planned for you. You have greatness in you and no man can take away the anointing power that God has ordained you with. Walk in the power and authority only given to you by God.

God and I love you more than you could ever imagine…

xoxo~ Your Sister
