She Believed She Could So She Did….

Do you recall those dreams you had as a little girl?

The dreams to grow up and become a ballerina or maybe even something along the lines of a doctor or lawyer? Did you ever stop and think then that those dreams were not possible?

Of course not!

When you were younger anything seemed possible, am I right? You didn’t let others define “who you were” or “who you wanted to be!” Opinions did not matter and you truly believed in “yourself.”

You wore what you wanted to wear and you walked with your head held high and you dreamed, you imagined, you had ideas and you were carefree. You would look in the mirror and cherish your freckles and you knew you were beautiful just the way God made you…..

I have been reflecting on my much younger self here lately, looking, pondering and wondering where that carefree girl is…

I have been desperately trying for the life of me to figure out why I have let the dreams that I held so dear to my heart.. lay dormant.

That little strawberry blonde haired girl is still me, even though over the years I have changed a bit of course.

But she is still me…

I have decided that it is the time that we look deep inside of ourselves and pull that “little girl” that we used to be out. We need to start believing in ourselves again and not letting anyone stop us from becoming what we have dreamed of being.

It is never too late to start something new, make a change and be “who you are” and not who others want you to be.

You don’t need negative Nancy’s or Debbie downers in your life!!

There is no such thing as silly dreams and there is not anything that you can not accomplish.

Put on your big girl panties and seize the day!

We are all uniquely made for a purpose and a plan a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11)

God’s plan, purpose, and destiny for you, no man can change.

Do something today to pull that little care-free girl out!

Write that book

Make a Facebook live video about what is being laid on your heart

Share your unique self with the world

Step out and be bold

Lead that bible study class

Teach a class

Become a mentor

Go on that mission trip

Dance in the rain

Wear whatever you want

Get that haircut you want

Wear that bold lipstick color

Eat the darn ice cream

Take a college class

Take the road trip that you have always wanted to

Change careers

Dress up for yourself and seize the day

Build a sandcastle

Go skydiving

Take a dance class

Take a cooking class

Sing and sing loud

Look in the mirror and love your beautiful self

The only one stopping you from being you is….YOU!!

The opinions of others do not MATTER!!

You…, boo-boo!

So let’s make a promise to our “adult-selves” to never stop dreaming, let that little girl out and let your wings fly.

~We need to be brave, bold and beautiful by embracing our unique selves~

I am going to do this for me, I believe I can and I will!

    1. Thank you so much!!! We need to be brave, bold and beautiful by embracing our unique selves. Be blessed!

  1. I can remember a time in my life when I felt like I wasn’t happy with my life and where I was. I watched the movie Disney’s The Kid. Not sure if you’ve seen it but the grown-up character meets his younger self. Anyway, it really helped me during that time in my life – that I needed to start making decisions that the ‘little me’ would have wanted me to make – that I owed that little girl a better life than I was giving her. Someone, that snapped me out of it! Your post reminded me of that! Thanks for sharing! Pinne

    1. I have not seen that movie, but I will be checking it out for sure! Thanks so much for reading!!

  2. Wow. This spoke volumes to me! There were some very specific things on that list that were a confirmation to prayers I’ve been praying a long time. Thank you for sharing!

  3. I’ve been reflecting a lot on my child self lately as well. God is pulling out all the negative and reminding me of the great places I’ve been with Him. Thanks for this!

    1. Thank you so much for reading! God is always faithful with exactly what we need and when we need it! Have a wonderful week!
