Preparing to fight: SPIRITUAL WARFARE

Have you noticed as of late that it seems that everyone you meet is trying to fight some kind of battle or the battle may even be within yourself?

Spiritual warfare is nothing to dismiss and set aside in order for someone else to rescue you from. You have to be willing to dig deep and prepare to fight and this means WAR! Satan is on a rampage to keep you feeling defeated, stressed and depressed. He has a way of controlling our minds, leaving us to feel powerless against the battles that are intended to destroy us.

John 10:10For the thief comes only to kill, steal and destroy.

Satan convinces us with his evil, conniving, and manipulative behavior that we are weak. As long as he can control our minds and keep us bound by chains and believing his lies, he has won.

When we are going through a battle, satan will use anyone, even your closest friend or loved one against you. He will convince you to battle against those closest to you in order to get you off track. As long as you are focused on the stronghold, blaming someone else for the battle, satan will have you fighting them instead of him. This is just how he works!

Scripture says plainly in Ephesians 6:12, we are not battling against “flesh and blood“, but against “spiritual forces of evil.” So the first thing to do is recognize who you are truly battling. Secondly, Ephesians 6:10-18, tells us to “PUT ON THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD.”

We can only stand strong with God on our side against any kind of evil forces. If you are trying to battle these forces without God, you, unfortunately, will be gobbled up by the beast himself.

Once you have put on your armor, the battle is not over! Just like any other time of War, you have to train and prepare to fight!

Ephesians 6:18- Pray in the SPIRIT on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and request. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

You have to “train” and use the weapons that you have been given along with the armor that you should cover yourself with daily.

  1. Prayer/Your prayer language (You have no idea how powerful your prayers really are)
  2. Praise ( Your praise is a weapon! PSALM 149:6)
  3. The word of God (Speak the word of God and the devil will flee from you and others)

Satan is always prepared to wound you first, are you prepared to block it?

  1. This is perfect for me right now. To pray. Without ceasing – BUT…

“Once you have put on your armor, the battle is not over! Just like any other time of War, you have to train and prepare to fight!”

Thank you for the encouragement to continue in prayer, but also using God’s word and Praise for Him.

    1. Thanks so much for reading!!! So glad you were encouraged :)Have a blessed day!

  2. Spiritual warfare is so real, but we have been given spiritual weapons by our Lord. Loved what you’ve included here about prayer and speaking God’s Word/Truth. I recently did Priscilla Shirer’s Armor of God study. I learned so much from her. Such a great study. Have you done that study?

    1. I have not done her study, but I will be looking into it for more direction!! Thanks so very much for reading!!!

  3. Great post! I’m currently doing Priscilla Shirer’s Armor of God Bible study, talking about all of these same things! It is amazing to me how often we (I) live life oblivious to the spiritual battle taking place all around us! Thanks for this encouragement! Pinning! 🙂

    1. Thank you so much for reading and pinning! I truly appreciate it very much. Someone else has mentioned this study to me today as well, I will be looking into it for sure 🙂

  4. So true, we do tend to forget there is a spiritual battle we cannot see. Prayer is taken for granted and we need to remember to put on the Armor of God when weak! I enjoyed your post and graphics.

    1. Thank you so much for the kind words and for reading!! Have a blessed day!

  5. Awesome post! And so relevant for me in this season of my life. This is an awesome reminder for me to stay vigilant and not allow myself to be overtaken by the enemy. Great post! Thanks so much!
